1. Why did you choose a career in infection prevention and control?
My main career is the dentistry, I always believed that relieving the pain of the patient is important but also the consequences of our work is important, many diseases can be transmitted during dental treatment if care and caution wasn’t applied properly that’s why infection control is inseparable from dentistry, I love how I care for things that can be missed when people get swayed and immersed during their work.
2. What advice would you give someone who is interested in an infection prevention and control career?
Read more, take a serious steps towards this field, it’s like a sea that has no shore and certainly considering the CBIC.
3. What does being a CIC® mean to you?
I am proud to be a part of CIC community, it always has been a dream since I knew the word infection control.
4. What was the best studying method for you when preparing for the initial certification examination?
The APIC text book included all the information that could anyone need.
5. What advice would you give someone pursuing certification?
Go ahead and never hesitate, a great experience in the field you like.
6. How do you stay up-to-date on infection prevention and control practices?
Always reading new updates from CDC, NHSN and other similar resources.
7. How has being a CIC® helped you navigate the current COVID-19 climate?
Always was reading the updates, during preparing the exam the chapter of COVID and other emerging diseases included much information that helped understanding the nature of the disease.
8. How has the CIC® helped you grow professionally and in your career?
The experience of the certification opened my eyes to different ways of getting the information and answers to my questions , meeting people with wide thoughts and great mindset that allows me to look beyond my vision .
